Our 1st Day at the Lake 09

Today we went to the lake with our friends Connie, Avi, Courtney, and Matt! We had a great time! We went at a great time of the day....we left early and came home in just enough time for the girls to be knocked out on their way home! Here is Maddy dancing before we were going to the lake!

ALMOST THERE!

Shane is almost home and I can't believe it!! This deployment has definitely had its sloooowww parts but at times it really seemed like it was flying by. Maddy has grown so much and I can't wait for Shane to REALLY experience her! We are going to really be a FAMILY! We are very proud of our Daddy for all the hard work he has done and how he has handled all the crapiness that has come with it but now its our turn to enjoy our Daddy. We can't wait!!! 5 days til he leaves and 9 til we get to be in his arms again!! The time can't come soon enough!

Cleaning Frenzy!

So, when I got home today all I wanted to do was relax but instead I just started cleaning my house! I got baseboards and doors cleaned, closets cleaned out, laundry washed, and the floors cleaned...with the help of my babygirl of course:

First Tooth!

So, Maddy finally got her 1st tooth today!!! It is the bottom left tooth and it took her 14 months!! LOL 

We had a very good day, we spent the afternoon shopping for new shoes for Maddy since her feet grew so fast!! Then we spent the rest of the day with Grandma!!! It was so good to see her again, I really love my mom and I know Maddy Paddy loves her Oma! Now I am off to read my book that I can't put down and drink some wine!! We love you Daddy!!

I dont even know if im doing this right but i thought i would try it, haha. Today we are getting ready to go back out again. We are going to train a new set of Iraqis. Hopefully they will learn better than 5th graders. I think i would have an easier time training Maddy how to set a base of fire and flank, lol. I will be out for 3-4 days as always and hate going out there and not being able to talk with my girls for that long. The deployment will be over soon though and i will be back in the arms of my beautiful girls.

Just Sad

I miss you...a lot...I wish you were here and even though its so close now it doesn't seem close enough...it seems as though time has slowed down and the days are even longer. I think it also has to do with NEEDING you home so badly. You make everything better...especially on days that I just feel all alone...

Easter Pictures

Our Easter was very uneventful, as you all read previously. Daddy was already away training Iraqi's so no phone call from him. Me and Maddy spent all day together lazying around...our uncle came to visit and we got an unexpected Easter basket from Grandma (which Uncle brought over) of course, no phone call yet from her...I wonder when we will be worthy of her time again...I miss her...

Maddy did get to hunt some eggs at the Hot Mommas Hippity Hoppity Easter Party...

Easter sucks, especially when you spend it all alone and your family only lives 8 minutes away.

Happy Easter everyone! 

I am not so much in the Easter spirit this year. Maddy can't eat a lot of the candy since she has no teeth yet and she has SO many toys. However, I have enjoyed the morning with my Baby girl...she is SO into her dolls now that I got a few of Auntie's dolls out of the totes in the garage and Maddy has been carrying them around and feeding them and it is just so cute. It's amazing how she knows what to do with the baby and to be gentle and feed it and kiss it and love it...my baby is growing up and I am not sure if I like it-even though its totally adorable! I wish our Daddy was here to celebrate with us, instead he is out and about for another 5 days...can't wait to talk to him Thursday! Anyway, even though our Oma is not talking to us, I am going to make the best of our Easter day. Next year, I'm sure it will be lots of fun!

I thought this was too cute...Maddy never liked baby dolls til tonight! She has been carrying it around ever since the bath and she knew just how to feed it and love it! She will be such a great Big sister one day...Oh I love her!

GOING BONKERS!!!

I just need to say that raising my beautiful baby girl is proving to be a challenge...and today-I AM GOING TO GO INSANE!! She has already broken another perfume bottle, a candle holder, and a brand new frame I just bought to hang up our family pictures that we took when Shane was home on R and R...

1. A civilian child usually dances around or talks during the National Anthem. A military child stands quietly with his hand over his heart.

2. A civilian child sees race. A military child sees diversity.

3. A civilian child has a best friend in his hometown. A military child has a best friend on almost every continent.

4. A civilian child sees only the plane flying over. A military child not only can identify the type of plane flying but knows someone who works on them.

5. A civilian child smells something nasty and yells; "Eeewwww, what's that smell?". A military child smells something nasty and yells; Daddy did you FART!!!!!

6. A civilian child sees a person in uniform. A military child can tell you what branch he's in and what his rank is.

7. A civilian child thinks home is where the heart is. A military child knows home is where the military sends you.

8. A civilian child lives for tomorrow and what it might bring. A military child lives for today because tomorrow, Daddy might get called away again.

9. A civilian child gets to kiss mommy and daddy goodnight each night. A military child sometimes has to kiss a picture of daddy or mommy goodnight.

10. A civilian child talks on the phone for fun. A military child lives for the 15 minute phone calls once a week.

11. A civilian child can read and write in English. A military child can read and write in acronym.

12. A civilian child says "good-bye". A military child says "see you later" (don't we know it, there's never GOOD BYE).

13. A civilian child gets to see things other kids would love to see. A military child gets to see things world leaders would love to see.

14. A civilian child will probably go to the same school his entire life. A military child will probably change schools every 2 years.

15. A civilian child might rarely leave his hometown for anything other than vacation. A military child will rarely see his "hometown" for anything other than vacation.

And finally...a civilian child supports our soldiers. A military child IS a soldier.

Me and Marie took our kiddos to the Military Child Appreciation Festival yesterday...I am SO glad we didn't go all day because it was SO hot we all got a bit of a sunburn-Marie looks like a lobster-lol! The kids had a great time! Damien and Maddy are becoming best friends!

Welcome to our Blog! I thought this would be a neat way to share some of our exciting life with our friends and family. 

A little about ourselves for some who don't know our story...

The beginning of our little family started when we got married on December 23, 2006 after Shane's 2nd tour to Iraq. 

Shortly after we realized that we were outgrowing our Duplex and we bought a beautiful house in June 2007 in Killeen, Texas. 

(I just realized we don't have any pictures of our house!!!)

After that we got the best news in the whole world!!! We were expecting a beautiful baby girl!!! Madilyn Samantha Lees was born on February 20, 2008! She is our pride and joy, she makes our lives complete. 

 

 

 

Shane deployed for the third time on June 10, 2008 and we are eagerly expecting him home sometime around May 29, 2009-We can't wait!!! 

Living here we have met many wonderful friends and though we have had our good and our bad times-We love our friends and we hope to keep them around for years and years to come!
